WHAT WE DO IN CENTRAL AMERICA

BUILD RELATIONSHIPS, MONITOR MFI PARTNERS’ PERFORMANCES

Every year, in addition to communication via Skype and email, we make one or more visits to our MFI Partners, now SERVIGUA in Guatemala and PANA PANA in Nicaragua, to continuously develop our relationships with management and staff. We believe this is critical to a successful collaboration.

We believe this is critical to a successful collaboration.

We meet with their key financial and operating executives to discuss what has happened since our previous visit, both the good and the not so good, and what changes are contemplated going forward in their businesses plans. We look at strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. We also discuss how we can minimize staff involvement in providing us with the information that we need.

What We Do in Nicaragua

We also visit several of their branches to get a better idea of what is happening on the ground from conversations with the branch managers and loan officers. We discuss what is going well (or not) in their locations, their challenges and how they are meeting them.

SERVIGUA has one office from which it serves clients in Quiche Department, primarily in Santa Cruz del Quiche and Chichicastenango. It has 18 employees.

Pana Pana is located in the RAAN Department on the Caribbean side of Nicaragua near the border with Honduras. It has 5 branches – in Managua, Puerto Cabezas, Rosita, Waspan and Bonanza. PANA PANA has 37 employees.

On our branch visits, we meet with many of the clients to determine if they enjoy working with SERVIGUA and PANA and, as well, to see how their businesses are doing and what new services they might like to see from their MFI. Due to the Covid-19 situation in both countries our Advisor Dr. Barquero made these visits during the time of his performance of due diligence.
